HOUSE RULES

We kindly ask you to check-out by 10am, unless you have stated that you want a late checkout ahead of time.

This property is strictly NO smoking, and this includes vaping.

Please be mindful of noise levels and your surrounding houses. NO OUTSIDE NOISE after 10PM.

LAUNDRY

Available for your use in the closet next to the dining room table. Powder is provided. Please press the washer door in firmly to engage the Start setting. It can be temperamental, so try closing the door again with a little more oomph and that usually does the trick. There is also a drying line connected to the eucalyptus tree near the car park. A drying rack, iron, and ironing board are provided in the main bedroom closet.

COFFEE & TEA

We have four options for your coﬀee pick-me-up: Instant, French Press, Turkish Moka pot, & Nespresso. The ground coﬀee is in the labelled container near the Nespresso machine. The French press and Moka pot are in the lower drawer to the right of the oven. The Nespresso pods are ready for use next to the machine. We allow one pod per person per night stay. The Nespresso pod will tell you the volume of coﬀee that it makes. Insert the pod into the machine, swing the lever to the lock position, then push the button on the top. There will be a pause, so don’t worry that its not working. It takes a minute for it to read the pod and start brewing. You can also add milk froth by using the attached container and select your desired blend. We have a selection of fine teas in the wooden tea box for your enjoyment.

WATER / SEPTIC

Our home relies on a septic system, so please do not flush any personal products down the toilet. Use the small bins provided.

You may notice the water has a brown tint to it, at times. This is particularly noticeable in the bathtub. Our water comes from a bore, and so the colour is variable based on rainfall and useage. Rest assured the water is filtered and so it is safe to drink and bathe. The water in the fridge door is also filtered if you are concerned about drinking from the tap.

OUTDOOR CUSHIONS & GAMES

Provided in the black storage bin on the middle terrace. Please return them to the bin when not in use so they stay in good condition for the next guest. There is a croquet set in the black storage bin and a Corn Hole set tucked near the back door near the shed.

PARKING

Please take care when pulling in/out the carpark near the house. The retaining wall corner by the drive seems to always be closer than you’d like! Consider parking in the other carpark oﬀ the drive for easier maneuvering. Please no parking or driving on the grassy areas.

DISHWASHER

There is a dishwasher, with dish tabs in the cupboard under the sink. Kindly start the dishwasher if there are any dirty dishes left behind when you leave.

HEATING / AIR CON

There are wall heaters in almost every room. They are quite powerful, so we recommend not setting them higher than 20C. Cooling is via open windows and the fans provided.

FIREPLACE

Sorry, but this is not currently in use. Instead, feel free to use the outdoor fireplace at the lower end of the terrace. There are matches and starters in the kitchen pantry. Please use the fire screen at all times

BUGS

You may encounter some insects; this is beyond our control. Martinborough is known for its ants, cockroaches, and flies.

BBQ

There is a gas Weber grill on the terrace for your use. Please turn oﬀ the gas and re-cover it when you are finished. Treat it as if it were your own. Grilling tools will be either at the grill or in one of the kitchen drawers. A $60 cleaning fee will apply if it is not left clean.

OUTDOOR CUPS

If you wish to have drinks outside, we’ve provided a pitcher and a selection of shatter-resistant cups for your use. They are located with the glasses in the drawer.

RUBBISH / RECYCLING

Please use the rubbish bins provided and where possible keep recycling seperate from daily waste. There is a large black bin for all kitchen and general rubbish to go in. There are two bins provided - Green/Maroon bins are for clean, unbroken bottles and jars. Recycled plastics, aluminium cans & tins. Large black bin with yellow lid is for paper, newspaper & cardboard.
