This charming colonial cottage is perfectly located on the edge of the township, still close enough to stroll to the square in just a few minutes, yet far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness that the property offers.
2 Bedrooms with Queen Beds, a generous sized lounge with comfortable couches, a heat pump and a separate kitchen to prepare meals. In the backyard you’ll find outdoor furniture to dine at, or enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the amazing view of the private vineyard.
Our 1905 ‘William Grace’ cottage has been our family sanctuary for over a decade. We love the relaxing vibe of being in a private semi-rural setting. The cottage is situated on the edge of the township a 5 minute walk to the Martinborough Square where you can enjoy the restaurants, great wine and barista made coffee.
The cottage comes with an interesting history which we have learnt over the years. Our cottage, along with the cottage next door, were built by a farmer for each of his daughters in 1905. One previous occupant, who grew up in the cottage has written a book about his time here in Martinborough. It includes the story of helping his father put in the bore and windmill which still takes pride of place in the vineyard. A copy of the book is on our book shelf and is a great weekend read.
We have leased out the vineyard to local winemaking friends, so please be aware you are staying on a working vineyard and we ask that you enjoy the vineyard view but understand it is not part of the cottage.
